Young & Reckless

People probably hear how short life is on a daily basis. But it really is incredibly short and extremely precious time that you cannot waste.

I've realized since the beginning of the this new year that life is too short to be anything but happy. If you are not satisfied with something in your life, make a change. Do what has to be done to be incredibly content. If you do not like something, do not feel as if you can not express your 100% honest opinion. What is the point of faking it? I am constantly thinking, "Will this matter 5 years from now?" It is a shame when people spend their life tip-toeing along, unsure of everything.

I have realized I have "changed" quite a bit since beginning college. Not in a bad way, but I have definitely started to find myself. Do not be afraid to be the real you. Especially during your younger years, on the brink of adulthood. Soak up your youth with open arms. Make mistakes and move on from them, knowing what the lessons learned are. Be honest with people. There is no point in telling people exactly what they want to hear. How does that aid them in their growth? The answer is it does not.

Live on.

The Vibe Manual

Twitter is one of the fastest growing social media sites on the market. I happen to have a Twitter account, and while browsing my feed one day, I stumbled upon a random account that had followed me managed by a man named Billy Chapata. Billy is a poet, writer, and author of "The Vibe Manual". I instantly fell in love with his account, drooling over his tweets of poetry. I even direct messaged him, complementing him on his incredible poetry and that I planned on getting his book for Christmas. He was kind enough to reply with grateful thanks. :)

Unfortunately, Santa failed on Christmas morning, as I was slightly disappointed to not find the book in my hands. YET, thanks to the beloved website of Amazon (and my paycheck), I finally got my hands on the book this past Tuesday. I do not think I have ever loved a book so much. It is filled with the deepest of raw emotions. I have never been one to appreciate poetry, but he has opened my eyes to everything that I was missing out on. It is an incredible experience to just sit down and absorb the vibes this book provides to the universe.

I encourage everyone to follow him on Twitter, @iamBrILLYant, it really is the freshest breath of air you can find on the internet. Also purchase his book www.lulu.com. It is so worth it.

Finally, I would just like to say he was my inspiration to create this blog focusing on positive vibes. He really is a genius and one of my biggest role models.

Background Makeover

Nothing can be more motivating than a eye-catching background. So give your computer a little makeover to brighten your mood and give you that little extra push.

Family Feud

They always mean well, but your family will always have the biggest impact on you. They won't always agree with you on everything or approve of your decisions. Yet, we greatly take into account their opinions on all issues.

Parents are our biggest influence. They want you to succeed in everything you do. Some parents want you to succeed in what they want you to do, which is normal for parents to do. They want you to be better off then they were. But their dreams do not always match up with yours, which can cause a dispute. Just remember that they mean well and want the best for you. Explain to them that you are not seeing eye-to-eye. It is their job to love you and let you grow.

Siblings can be just as influential. They are your brothers and sisters, so it is their job to give you tough love. They will not sugar coat what you need to hear, but they will always be there to support you in your choices, no matter what. It is important to take what they have to say to heart, because they hate to see you upset.

Family are the only friends that will be there throughout your entire life. They want nothing more than to see you happy and successful. No matter how much they might bother, argue, or disagree with you, at the end of the day, they will love you for you.

"The family. We were a strange little band of characters trudging through life sharing diseases and toothpaste, coveting one another’s desserts, hiding shampoo, borrowing money, locking each other out of our rooms, inflicting pain and kissing to heal it in the same instant, loving, laughing, defending, and trying to figure out the common thread that bound us all together." -Erma Bombeck
