Facing Reality

Fairy-tales, books, and movies have a tendency to end in happily ever-afters. People, on the other hand, have a tendency to latch onto those happily ever-afters with all their might, and fight until their last breath trying to make those stories become a reality. Yet even though life is not a guaranteed happy ending, that does not mean we cannot try to make it one!

Throughout the day, you are faced with incredible challenges that you have no way to prepare for. But that is life. One, giant spur-of-the-moment, mixed in between day and night. But no matter what you face, you have to realize that life happens and there is no way around it, so you might as well make the best of it. It is better to look back on life and remember the best of everything instead of remembering how upset you were. Sometimes it may seem impossible to find a silver-lining, but even the smallest positive makes the biggest difference.

If you keep reminding yourself that things will get better, they will. No one becomes happy if their head is constantly filled with negative thoughts. It does not work out. Life is honestly too short to be miserable about every little thing that goes wrong. So no matter what you are facing, be positive. You will end up helping yourself and those around you. Besides, no one likes a Debbie Downer.

“Believe in yourself! Have faith in your abilities! Without a humble but reasonable confidence in your own powers you cannot be successful or happy.” – Norman Vincent Peale

  1. Couldn't agree with you more Adrianne! I try to live my life by seizing the day, because nothing matters more than living in the now.

    1. Glad you agree! Life is way to short to dwell in the past or worry about the future.

  3. I like to see my glass all the way full sometimes if not just half way full because I drank some already.

  4. The Bible says we were fearfully and wonderfully made by the creator of the universe. As a Christian, I know I'm the daughter of the King of Kings. It's a glorious feeling.
